Hello,

Hopefully enough time has past since the last time this was inevitably asked, but care to share your BP/W gear list? As I'm getting ready for my first BP/W purchases, I want to make sure I'm not missing any great options out there. I'm particularly interested in the following items:

1. Backplate
2. Wing
3. Harness
4. Primary 1st stage
5. Primary 2nd stage
6. Computer
7. SPG
8. Hoses

Thanks so much.

Regards,
David

Maybe slightly more, but not overwhelming.

Seems like more people prefer SS over alum.
Unless I'm flying somewhere, I prefer the heavier SS because it allows me to reduce the amount of lead I have to pack in pouches or wear on belts- but I'm just a single tank diver.

I agree with this — I have been thinking about getting one of the nylon (traveler) backplates for travel/tropical water use, but most of my diving is in SoCal waters and I have been very happy with the weight distribution afforded by the SS backplate.

I've taken an Oxycheq soft "travel plate" to Coz once. They do work as advertised and you don't really need a crotch strap but, I realized I like the stiffness of a solid backplate. I also realized I also prefer cambands on an STA rather than threaded through the plate and wing. So now I travel with my Oxycheq SS "Wishbone" Travel Plate.
Started with this:

Ended up with this (sorry about the pic, it's from 2015):

For a STA, I use the Oxycheq "Mini" 2-piece with DR Roller Cambands and Delrin nuts.

I'm pretty happy with this setup for travel, but a Freedom Plate is on my wish list.

I have 3 full setups but the below is my favorite:
BP: ScubaPro Aluminum
Wing: OMS 32#
Harness: Standard single web, I think the Pure from ScubaPro
Reg: MK 25 EVO/ S620T though heavily looking at Deep6 for Second set.
Computer: ScubaPro G2 (mistake), looking at Freedom Advanced Nitrox/Trimix for Tec Instruction
SPG: Deep6 (Brass and Glass 2")
Hoses: Atomic swivel rubber primary, others rubber

I have an XTEK with comfort harness I use when Divemaster for ScubaPro based LDS and I have a full Diverite setup that I also love. It has the Transplate harness and Travel XT wing but probably least used.
