I was in the boat that you are in now 2 months ago.
I did what you are doing and asked a lot of questions and did a lot of research.
There are many dive op's on the island, most good.
I made arrangments with my dive op before I got there. I set up my dive dates and made very sure that they were aware that I was a new diver and had limited experiece. I even hired a private DM/instuctor for the first days dives, it realy cheap insuranse and helps you find out what your skill level is for the rest of the dives.
Make sure that they know you are an inexperianced diver every day on the boat and if you have any resevations about a dive say so. A couple of the dives that I did may have been difficult for some new divers.
Most of the first dives I did were 80 to 100 feet with the second in the 50 to 80 range.
We did a lot of swim thrus some lof which were fairly long but not tight. Current was not a real factor on most of the dives, one was moving along fairly quickly so that you could not realy stop and look at much.
If you are new and haven't done much diving you may want to consider arranging for larger tanks, 100 cf, so that you can enjoy more of the dive and not run out of air if you are a hoover like I am.
Enjoy the trip Coz is a great place to dive and a nice island to visit.
