I've had to open the zipper on a semi dry at depth a few times due to the suit squeeze. It's not the biggest deal in the world. Deal with the 30 seconds of cold water till it warms back up and then you're golden.
And as the suit breaks in with age the suit squeeze should become less and less of an issue
