My suspicion is that the tech got interupted post testing/pre tightening and forgot about it. Not a major error and one that is easily fixed - but do not leave them only finger tight.

I guess this is one area we are just going to have to differ. I see the failure to properly tighten critical fittings that can lead to catastrophic failures as a very major error that is simply unacceptable. I put it in the same category as the tire shop leaving your lug nuts loose.

"What do you mean by "rebuilt 100% by the factory?" Did you send the reg back to scubapro? If so, where? Or, are you saying that you just had it rebuilt at a SP dealer?

Just curious."

Answer: Well..., I took it to the local shop but they told me that they send it to ScubaPro for the rebuilt. That is what I meant by "rebuilt by the factorey".

Welcome to Scuba Board.

Herman and DA rebuild their own regulators (as does Matt, Awap and myself) so getting a regulator back from the shop or factory with a loose hose should not be a big concern for us, but Awap is very correct with his lug nut analogy. This missed step could be very serious to a diver unfamiliar with regulators. There was a thread a year or so ago where the poster had a failure of his second stage because the hose came off.
