You mean an agency recognized specialy in Lake Diving? I haven't heard of any such thing.

With PADI you can get a specialty for near anything. Up in College Station, we're firming up an "aggie diver" specialty, which'll involve at least one dive where yell practice is conducted... underwater. I think we have to wear overalls for dive #2, and attend a mandatory post-dive beer bash.

Archman,
Maybe they could include the football team showing up since they didn't make it to the Cotton Bowl. :06:
Diving at the "Chicken"!!!

WaterWayne:
Was it here within the last year that I heard about a proposed certification for Texas lake diving? I've searched this forum a couple of times with different word combo's, but no joy. At the time, wherever I heard about it, it was just proposed.

TIA,
Wayne

Yes Wayne there has been dicussion of a Texas Diver PADI specialty,,,,,a local LDS has been working on that,,,,last I heard it would require you to have made dives in Texas lakes/quarries/rivers/coastal waters. Don't know were it stands at this time.

I would love to show-off a TEXAS DIVER Speciality card.

skeet:
Do we need to help the LDS lobby for this with PADI, I would help.

No,,,I understand it is now in the hands of the LDS to impliment the specialty,,,beyond that I don't know their plans.
