I was lucky when I was there in 2019. The boat I booked (Red Sea Aggressor 1) burned down a month before I was there. The replacement boat, Scuba Scene (which I recently learned that was owned by Dive Pro Liveaboard, the same owner of Tillis & Sea Story), was also burned down afterwards.

noticed that someone has corrected their list of 10 boats sank in Red Sea since 2017, in fact they were 16 boats that were sank since then. The list that they showed like the one you have posted here. I screenshot the 7:18 minutes of the YouTube video. Are you the one who corrected them?
I sent them an e-mail with a couple of attachments (Undercurrent and this link as well as a link to ScubaBoard

Not all those boats have sunk, e.g. Omneia Soul had little more that the paint scrape of here hull after she hit the reef.

So what?

Maybe nine out of ten boat incidents in Egypt end up just scraping paint on the reef, or perhaps the Omelia were lucky.

Maybe also one out of ten boats that got engine fire end up completely burnt or with casualties, the rest end up with a vacation screwed over but no loss of life or injuries. Maybe only one out of ten compressor explosions end up with injuries. I witnessed such one, only the mechanic got hurt, but the boat was fine (other than lots of smoke everywhere and the smell of burnt oil).

That doesn't mean everything is all right with Egypt's safety standards... The boats in the list are the tip of the iceberg, the majority are "minor" incidents, shear luck, the "almost accidents" we usually don't hear of.

The Divepro fleet apparently disappeared from liveaboard.com.

The original post stated "in fact they were 16 boats that were sank since then", which is incorrect in the case of Omneia Soul, which shows up on the list. I just wanted to set the record stright on this.
Ah, yes, details are very important... It is just 15 boats lost to fire and/or sunk, and one that was lucky and made it away.

It makes.a lot of difference, I feel much safer now that we know one boat just scraped paint on the reef. Going to book my next Safari vacation on the Omneia Soul right away!

Oh, by the way, the list does not include any operators that the boat is okay, but they lost divers that were never found (been several of these in Elphinstone, for example). Losing divers, and incompetence in search and rescue them is just as bad as having a fire or sinking and generally part of lack of safety standards IMHO..

It looks like Liveaboard.com has now taken down the listings for the Tillis and Coral Dreams, the two remaining boats in the Dive Pro “fleet” after Scuba Scene, Sea Legend, and Sea Story burned or sank.

FWIW, I had written Liveaboard.com urging them to take such action, and they wrote me a thoughtful response saying that they were considering their options. Here’s hoping that the company decided to do the right thing.

Interesting, LiveAboard.com listed 77 liveaboards in Egypt on November 28 and today lists 68. Both the Tillis and Sea Pearl do not appear on the website. I guess a few others have been delisted.

PADI Travel has reduced the number of Egypt liveaboards by only one, but both the Tillis and Sea Pearl are not listed.

I'm hoping we hear from @Scuba-74 regarding his trip on the Tillis. I believe he is back in port today.
