Hi all,

I think I've ID'd this thing as Cucumaria Piperata, but I'd like to see if anyone else agrees - first time I've seen these. There were hundreds of them all over the rocks at Catalina (Red Bluff). They retract if you poke them; otherwise I would have thought they were just some sort of plant! :)

Looks like Cucumaria piperata to me. They are quite common in the Casino Point Dive Park if you look at rock faces carefully.

Thanks - appreciate the second opinion! :)

Hitting the dive park next Sunday; I'll keep my eyes open for these little guys. Very cute...
