Scuba Toys is good, but I always go to Dive Booty first. They compare prices from several retailers (including Scuba Toys) and list by price. Usually get the best deal that way. They are at: http://www.divebooty.com/

If you want to support your local shop, I can sometimes get them to match a deal I find on-line if they carry the same stuff. They can call the dealer and get them to match the deal with their next order. Always worth a try.

Scuba Brad,

Some unsolicited advice - if you want to promote your business, you should consider contributing something other than the not-so-subtle plugs you've been leaving in every thread someone posts about a great shopping experience.

For what (in my opinion) is a good way to promote your business, see some of the posts by Tobin of Deep Sea Supply, Christi of Blue XT~Sea or even Larry himself. They tend to provide useful answers to people's questions without blatantly promoting themselves. This makes me (and I suspect others like me) want to supprort their business.

Sorry if this advice is unwanted - just wanted to make you aware that at least one person bristles a bit at the advertising tack you're currently taking.

Scuba Brad:
Let me first say that there are other web sites out there, like ours OneStopScuba.com.........and we do I think a pretty good job..........but Larry has set the standard for those of us in the business. Not only is he a nice person he has done a great job creating a very successful business model. I just hope over the years we can rise to his level. Larry......I salute you.

Scuba Brad

Scuba Brad:
Nice to hear Larry is still the big dog! All of us in the web business bow to them.........why not they ARE the best............maybe someday we can be close. But for now we "just try harder". Thanks Larry for setting the standard.

From all the guys are OneStopScuba.com

My wife and I both have Henderson Titanium Hyperstretch wetsuits that the size charts say are for a couple of inches taller than us, in order to get the other measurements right, and they still fit quite well (I hate to admit my couple of inches are more than hers).

I agree that ScubaToys.com has given me great service and great gear.

It sounds too good to be true, but it is so true. ScubaToys.com, Joe, Larry, Ben, and everyone else at the shop, is fantabulous!!!

However, I did not hear of the 10% discount for Scubaboard members:mad: W.T.F!!!!!!

I bought three separate orders from them. Although I have not tried the gear out yet, I plan to do so in May. Essentially, I cannot see not ordering from scubatoys, com. They run a tight ship. Everything is brand spanking new. Plenty of inventory on hand, ready to ship. If it is not in stock, they order it, and let you know up front when to expect the items that are on order.

We all are in business at whatever we do to make a profit. But Scubatoys.com clearly demonstrate that they are there to help fellow divers by their consistent service. I noticed the following little things that you all may be able to appreciate:

-Did not charge credit card until they actually shipped orders.
-They forgot to ship some stuff, but after I called them, they shipped the forgotten merchandise for next day delivery (which I got in less than 24 hours) at no extra charge. They did so not because I was in dire need of it. They did this because they felt it was the right thing to do.
-Complete, accurate, and easy to read/understand packing lists to all orders.
-Successful care and packaging of all merchandise shipped.

They carry a wide selection of gear, almost everything from cave related double tank harnesses and reels to basic open water items.

Anyway, the following is a list of items I have ordered from Scubatoys.com. They have earned my business for anything I need. I have just ordered two dive bags from scuba.com. I will see how the order turns out, which looks to be good, because I received confirmation that the order shipped today (within 24 hours of order). I did so, just because Scubatoys.com does not carry the bags I wanted.

Order 1 (January email order):
Oceanic Probe QLR BC
Mares MR12 Rebel Reg
Mares Rebel Octo
Oceanic Datamax Pro Plus II computer
Aeris Analog gauges

Order 2 (actually visited the store since I live in Houston)
Dive lights
miscelaneous clips and stuff

Order 3 (March internet order):
Tank, boot, mesh protector, and cap
Miscellaneous signalling devices (mirror, tube, etc.)

:D

DOH, I know I'm new the this board but I was told this IS the place to market yourself, your club, your activities, and your business. Perhaps you need to appoligize to Scuba Brad. I can't beleive he didn't jump down your throat for being a jerk. The fact that you bristle is your problem not his. ISN'T this the place to promote your cause and talk about scuba experiences. Now if this was an English class form and you were giving someone crap for spelling then I think you have a case. But its not its a SCUBA forum..........he has the right to share his thoughts.

By the way do you even know this guy? or are you just venting? I actually live in the same state as OneStopScuba.com and have purchased product from them. They are every bit as professional as Larry at Scuba Toys or Mike at 123Scuba, who I might add I know personally. Brad happens to be as genuine as he sounds. The fact that he said he appreciated your comments tells you alot about the guy.

Speaking of having out of place comments on a Scuba Forum I loved the valuable contributions you are making:

Very nice map!

Just a minor nitpicky thing - if you plan to share with any anal-retentive types (like me) you might want to give it a once over for appropriate use of capital letters. In my book, you don't need to follow any specific set rules but you should at least be consistent (if you're going to capitalize Morray Eels, you should probably capitalize the Eagle Rays and the Cleaner Shrimp too). Ideally, you wouldn't capitalize the names of the animals (or north, south and lifeguard) unless they begin a sentence.

Last time I check DOH no one is perfect, however, there in room in this world for just kind decency. To take someone apart for spelling IN A SCUBA form come on dude there are more important things in life.

Hey and I might add, I like ScubaToys also. But I support my Local Dive Shop too and for now OneStopScuba have my business.

Thanks for your insights

I just completed my first purchase with Larry and ScubaToys, I will whole heartedly
recommend them! Excellent service, excellent price!
There are some things I will continue to purchase from our three local dive shops,
but I'll be visiting ScubaToys site more often. Thanks Larry!

WOW, this has turned out to be one of those negative threads.
