Larry helped us find perfect fits which is not easy when you are relative short and fat like me. Larry has a massive inventory of wetsuits to choose from.
Yes, that's me! I would have to categorize myself as "short and fat" too (apple shaped) even though I see myself as relatively thin when comparing myself to others around me in shopping malls, grocery stores, etc.. Go figure.
I'm not sure I'd be happy in the Bare brand because it's not
really, really stretchy like the Henderson. I tend to feel clausterphobic when wearing most brands of wetsuits out there. They feel like straight jackets to me. Last rented suit I was in was a Henderson and wow - it was comfy! I felt like I was wearing pajamas!
The big problem with me is my height vs my weight. If I bought a Henderson Hyperstretch in my size (womens 10 - one size just slightly smaller than my measurements) based on the size chart on ScubaToys.com it would fit a person 5'7" - 5'9" and I'm just barely 5'4". Wouldn't the arms and legs be too long? And possibly the torso too?
As far as custom goes, I really won't be diving enough to justify having a custom suit made. Funds are limited here at home and vacations are about once or twice a year at best. And, I have to admit, I'm a total WWW and won't even put my big toe in the water here in the Pacific Ocean. BRRRRRRRRRR!!! I went hypothermic once in my life and I never ever plan on risking that happening again. Nuh uh.
I would just keep renting, but, uh, um, re: rented wetsuits in a word?
PeeeeeYewwww!!!!
