Hey Folks,

I hate to beat a dead horse if this has been covered before... but does anyone know the difference between the r290 and r190 octos from SP?

Leisure Pro sells them both... I was all ready to buy the R190 for my MK25/G250 but thought I'd ask just in case the r290 was a more worthwhile octo.

I really prefer the R295's size but wonder if I won't want adjustable VIVA action someday.

Thanks much!

-Eric

The R290 was marketed in Europe rather than the US and the difference bewteen the R290 and R190 are minimal.

DA,

Thanks for the quick reply!

Now I just need to decide if I want a larger octo with a adjustability (R190) or do I want a smaller non adjustable one under my neck (R295).

Thanks again for your help,

-Eric

It's to bad they discontinued the R390. It was small and had the adjustable flow vane and would make a good backup on a necklace.

I have not tried it, but I suspect the R380/R390 flow vane would fit in the R295 case. I think all they did was stick a plug in the hole. I'd check to see if your SP dealer would be willing to order the parts and install it in an R295. All that should be required is the vane, the o-ring and the retaining clip.

They replaced it with a R395. It is adjustable and small. Works great.
Its not on thier website but it is avaliable.

does anyone own the R395 i am in the market for a new reg and am looking into this one.

I have two, they work great.

I have the brand new SP R290 if you are interested in.

Hey folks,

Hmmm interesting. The R395 is on the UK SP website but not on the US one.

Does anyone know of a US website that might sell it? Every one I've found on google is in the UK. My LDS charges me out the rear for everything.

I suppose I could just buy the R295 as DA suggested and
get the parts from the R395 installed.

Thanks again,

-Eric

Eric, Find a new LDS. Mine sold me one - no problem. I bought just the 2nd (R395) stage because I already had 2 MK17AF's. The matchup is sweet.
