If you are not willing to make the drive to purchase the items, what do you plan to do when your equipment needs serviced...which is a necessity

ahh, but see, Im moving to St.Croix in 3 weeks so hopefully i can walk to my new local LDS :D

My sister moved to St Croix about 3 years, she loves it. Good luck with your move :)

yes but with no warrenty

Why do you find it necessary to attempt such a deception? The truth which you are twisting is that the distributor (scubapro USA) claims they will not honor the scubapro USA warrenty if the product was not purchased from one of their authorized dealers. However, leisurepro offers their own warrenty:

"We are not authorized dealers of some manufactureres and some of the products may not be accompanied by the manufacturer's warrenty valid in the United States. However, we provide in such instances our own warrenty, which offers equal or greater protection"

Are you more truthful with your customers?

He does it because he is a dive shop owner and bends the truth as it suits him.
I've read couple of posts from divereh and I would really love to know what shop he's running.......so I can avoid it. :D

Glad you resurrected this 6 month old thread with this gem of information.

What dive shop do you work for again?

The last thread he resurrected was 2-3 years old and ended couple of month before he joined the board. ;)

LP's warrenty, no matter waht they say, is not equal to Scubapro's. Lifetime parts is what Scubapro offers, as long as you keep up the annual servicing. A good LDS should be able to service your gear in a couple of days. With LP, (assuming they do servicing), you are going to pay shipping, there and back, and not have your gear for 2-6 weeks. Oh, and if you buy a Scubapro computer from LP, and try to get the battery changed? Scubapro will be happy to do that for you.

For $500.00

You get what you pay for.

Yeah well, I bought my Uwatec computer (AI, top of the line than) through an authorized dealer. Now, after 5 years, I've been told that Uwatec/Scubapro will not replace my batteries. If I want, I'm more than welcome to upgrade to a newer model eventhough my computer is fine. For additional $600.
So you don't always get what you pay for. ;)

So I take it ScubaPro doesn't honor the "lifetime" warranty for batteries? That is odd!
