My friend/former student has had one for a year (I think), and he dives with it frequently. He loves it. I am planning to get one myself once $$ is here :)

Any specific information you are looking for?

2 transmitters seems to indicate you dive sidemount, any “tec” involved?

The reason I ask is the proprietary “Bühlmann” algorithm isn’t that compatible with true ZHL models

The search function reveals alot

I’ve posted a few things in another thread and this is a day before the dive place holder of sorts.

So far by looking at the built in battery graph I can say that while not using it it draws little to no power. I have worn it as a watch and even came close to setting up smart watch-iPhone connection but don’t really think it’s something I would use.

This is also not a buy one because it’s great thing, I haven’t dived it yet so I can’t say how well it’s going to work in that environment although I don’t anticipate anything but good performance there.

They have slashed the price on these a lot and it’s about as loaded with features as anything out there, for me at my age it’s going to just be a back up to my SP HUD for now.

At this point if I were suggesting a new wrist type computer I would still put Shearwater Teric (maybe the Tern too) at the top of the list but if someone finds a good deal or gets a package deal and one of these G3’s were included or offered I’m thinking you will be as well equipped as anyone without feeling left behind, still if someone were standing in front of me comparing this and a Tern tx with both being unknowns at this point I would probably hint toward the Tern because of the superb customer service from SW but if they were leaning toward this, as of now I couldn’t make myself twist their are away from it.

It looks promising but I’ll know more in the coming weeks/months.

I’ve come to prefer charging my computers with battery packs, this as well as the HUD use different dongles but I’ve charged both at one time with this Anker battery and so far the battery pack has not discharged enough to show any drain. The G3 was fully charged from a low yellow warning to full in an hour and twenty minutes. I carry this battery and the cables in my undergarment bag so it’s always there, the Teric Qi charging is nicer (different battery pack for that) but this is ok.

It’s a big watch which is why I’m not likely to ever use it in watch mode

More impressions to follow.

I didn't find any truth to this. My friend uses A Ratio computer with his G3, and they are very close to each other when set to the same GF. He dives down to 50 meters and does deco dives.

Perhaps Scubapro could make an official statement. It seems like the Buhlmann algorithm for the G3, G2 tech, and Luna 2.0 are altered by an adjustment for altitude. I would be glad to be proven wrong.

Close, but not matching
That has been my experience diving a G2 next to a Shearwater (both OC and CC)

And I already tried matching GF to MB levels based on:

The TTS is close, but the stop distribution isn’t the same — it’s not the end of tge world for someone with loads of deco diving in a mixed team, but for someone starting out it gets stressful to not match your teammates

I have to send an email to SP Tech. services in Germany with some questions on some of their computers, I'll do my best to remember to add this question to my list of questions (when I finally get around to it). I have been very busy doing other much more critical issues.

im not tech diving but plan on using it for multiple diver info if it will do that. it just seems so much cheaper than the garmin mk3i and the "search bar as some have said hasnt satisfied my info hunt. thanks for your reply.

I wouldn’t recommend you use the 2 transmitters to monitor a buddy’s gas as it will mess with the estimated remaining bottom time calculation, unless you use it in gauge mode — SP doesn’t have a dedicated mode for “buddy gas”
You can alternatively just ignore the RBT number on the screen and depend on preplanned turn pressure

Didn’t mean to sound dismissive/patronizing, I was just pointing out that Lex’s review thread of the G3 I attached is pretty in depth — any specific (non comparative) technical info on usage modes can be found directly in the user manual available online
He’s the only one on SB (that I know of) that has extensive experience with the G3 and was willing to post about it

Features wise, the G3 is a G2 in a new form factor btw, nothing new in there except the watch face
