Hey there USF scuba club will be going up with 14 people this time around! We can make the spot that we usually stay on if it is available. Thanks for the invite!

WOOT! One week from now, Roxanne will be up to her eyeballs in smoke from the grill. (who will be helping her?) The call for food has gone out and people are slowly making their way to the pavilion. Others will be diving. Beer has been consumed. The sun is shining, a beautiful day. Kids are running around and playing in the water. Stories from previous Mega Dives are being told. And the fire circle last night was low key. All in moderation... till tonight.. one week from now.

Here's a run down of the whole event in case anyone missed the 1st post!
All are welcome for a weekend
of
Diving, Camping and Camaraderie!

We have reservations for
ScubaBoard's
2016 Fool's Spring Megadive

Mark your calendars for
April 1st - 3rd, 2016
Come for 1 day or the whole weekend.

We have a special guests for this event!
Scuba Nation will be there for the event
over the April 1st weekend
and they will be filming an episode
devoted to cave country and spring diving.

In addition we will also have Dive Rite
there to do a Demo day with us on Saturday!

All are welcome. This event is open to ALL dive levels, newbie, OW,
all the way to full cave certification.
If you don't have a buddy, don't worry, there are a bunch of us
and there's always someone ready for a dive!
Diving is set at your own pace, when and where you want in between eating and sleeping.
The only dive that is a scheduled dive will be the galaxy dive around dusk on Sat. evening.
As it is a family event, there are plenty of non divers and kids too.

Ginnie Springs has a full service dive shop and a pretty nice little store.
They also rent canoes, kayaks and tubes for use on the river or bring your own.
Check out their website below for further info, park maps and directions.
Florida Staycation vacation place for scuba diving & Florida ecotourism
Or give them a call at Ginnie Springs Outdoors 1-386-454-7188
You can even download their brochure and your dive release forms in advance.

When you get to Ginnie Springs, you'll need to check in the Main Office.
Please tell them your with the ScubaBoard Megadive group
as we get a 10% discount on camping and diving!
If you check in on Friday and won't be diving until Sat.,
go ahead and pay for your diving then and get your wrist bands.
It can get really busy on Sat. and you don't want to waste your time waiting in line again.
Sometimes we do a sunrise dive before the shop opens and
you don't want to miss one of the best dives of the day!
We have the whole Turkey Roost area reserved from the road back. Most of us will be tent camping.
There are separate sites for RV's and I do recommend reserving your spot if you are bringing yours.
Some though do stay in town at the motel, but you'll miss a lot of the fun...
There isn't electricity where we're tent camping, but the are several taps with running water and grills.
There is electricity at the pavilion and bathrooms w/showers are a short walk away.
Don't forget to bring chairs for around the fire and bug spray if the bugs like you.
No need to make reservations (unless you're bringing an RV), just sign up on this thread.
Let us know how many are attending in your party
and what you'll be bringing to pitch in for the group dinner and 2 breakfasts.
And please, would you be willing to help prepare and clean up for the meals.
If we all pitch in and take a task, it makes for a fun weekend for everyone.
Once a week up until the event, I'll update who's attending, the food list and volunteers.
Check for the latest list for ideas on what to bring and what's still needed.
If your traveling a ways to join us, why not add an extra day or 2 on to make it worth your time.

So come join us for a weekend of Fun!

Here is a rundown of the weekend...
Friday-
All meals will be on your own. Some will go out to dinner; some will cook at the campsite. It's up to you.
Campfire - a little smores, a little music, a little singing, a little drinking(BYOB) or not, keeping it mild in anticipation of the big day of diving on Sat.

Saturday-
Brekky -

For those who always ask what to bring. Here are some ideas...
Meat items for the grill
(We're trying to keep it simple so it doesn't take forever to cook for the group)
(Please keep it to Hamburgers, hot dogs, brats, chicken breast and premade items like pulled beef/pork, meatballs and shish kabobs. If you have something else you were thinking about and want to cook that yourself, that's great! Some have brought fryers or smokers and added to the meat items that way.) Don't forget the buns for items like hamburgers and hot dogs.
Eggs(We never seem to have enough.)
Items for the omelettes(additional meats, peppers, mushrooms, onions, olives, salsa, wraps, cheese, etc.)
Items for Breakfast (Juices, fruit, muffins, coffee, creamer, etc.)
Charcoal (self starting)
Condiments(cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, ketchup, mustard, mayo, relish, BBQ sauce etc.)
Paper towels and napkins
Heavy duty Paper Plates
(no Styrofoam please) and desert plates.
Plastic silverware
Bottled water
Side dishes
(casseroles, baked beans, potato salad, macaroni salad, cole slaw, chips and dips/salsa, fruit salad, green salads w/dressing, veggie tray w/dip, etc.)
Deserts(Oh please don't forget the deserts!)
Tiki torches and fuel (for around the fire)
I JUST FOUND OUT TODAY THAT WE WILL NEED
WOOD FOR THE BONDFIRE!
Please pitch in with any you can bring.

We also need volunteers to help out during meals for the weekend. THANKS!!!!

If we all pitch in and take a task, it makes for a fun weekend for everyone.
