It's getting talked about in the local Maui dive community and I just found out some important information about Shaka Doug. I spoke with him today at the beach and he confirmed that it's true!He really needs your help!
For the second year in a row, Shaka Doug has had the honor and pleasure of participating in the Muscular Dystrophy Association's "Lock-Up to Help Jerry's Kids®" program, here in Kihei. To help the cause, he'll be locked up behind bars and tortured
(well, not really tortured) until he is able to post bail. To make his bail and get out of jail, he could really use your help!
"It's no fun being in jail... he says, "but it's way better than having muscular dystrophy!"
Please look at Shaka Doug's MDA webpage and contribute whatever you can. It's at:
https://www.mdaevent.org/Participant...c-559aad4b9413
He would like to include fellow SCUBABOARD Members on his list of contributors who are helping him fly the coop. Your donation would help MDA(http://www.mdausa.org/) continue the important fight against muscular dystrophy. Check out his web page by clicking on the link. There you'll find all kinds of information about MDA, and be able to make your
tax-deductible donation on-line using your credit card.
MDA serves people in our community with neuromuscular disease by providing clinics, support groups, assistance with the purchase and repair of
wheelchairs, braces and communication devices, and summer camp for kids. MDA also funds research grants to help find treatments and cures for some 43
neuromuscular diseases that affect people of all ages, right here in our community.
Shaka Doug told me he sincerely hopes that you'll take this opportunity to support MDA.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact him via e-mail at mda@shakadivers.com. And please don't forget...He gets locked up on November 2! I know he has dives to make that weekend and doesn't want to spend the night in jail!!!!
When I last spoke with him, he said "I'm innocent I tell
you!!! Innocent!!!
On behalf of the families MDA serves, thank you!
With warmest regards,
Al
