It's funny because it's so true. So painfully true.

I'll be diving in less than two weeks and all I can think about is my next dive trip after that.

This isn't healthy, man. This just isn't healthy.

Shoot!! I got Open water certified in Belize during Covid! I went on a special dive trip from Ambergris Caye out to Turneffe and we did three dives, and yes, the boat ride was very, very rough, but it was absolutely worth it! I stayed at Ramon's and I had an amazing time. I would come and share a room, but I am booked to go to Alaska on a cruise and then go on a 20 day land tour and see glaciers, grizzlies, and camp at Denali. So, so disappointed :)

It's a shame that you won't be able to join us, but it sounds like you're going to have an amazing time in Alaska! Hopefully you can make it next time!

I posted this in my Back Surgery Thread, but I thought I would also post it here...

FWIW, @cardzard and @ROXANNE keep checking up on me as I've missed the last three ScubaBoard excursions because of my back. To be clear, I could get on a plane tomorrow to go anywhere in the world and be diving in the morning!!! Bring it on.

AND, I feel I'm fully able to do a rescue. I actually stopped teaching Scuba because I didn't feel I could do a full rescue. I had no business teaching if I couldn't effectively assist my student should they need it. After I get a bit quicker in the water, I might start teaching again. I might.

Did I mention that Belize and that fricken beautiful Blue Hole has been on my bucket list for 50+ years??? I kind of resent that my Grand Nephew will get to go during his first year of diving! Where is the justice??? :D :D :D Just kidding, I just hope we don't spoil the crap out of him with this being his first excursion.

My kids' first 2 dive trips were to Culebra and Bonaire.
Melissa and Morgan missed out on the joy of cold MA and ME ocean diving being their intro to real open water diving!
They did train in Lake George, in NY, in the Spring, so at least they got a taste of just how miserable diving can be.
I'd been certified for @25 years, before I discovered that there was such a thing as warm water diving!
