So.....

I bought the X-tek form and really love it. Above water it is far superior in comfort if you have to hike any distance with doubles or up and down stairs as I did at Ginnie and Blue Grotto this past weekend. Much easier on the shoulders and back. As far as in the water it was just as stable as the Halcyon. As far as the 3 little D-rings down each side I have found a use for the three on my right side....I have rigged my can light there. It as almost as if they were made for it.

The D-rings on the straps while not adjustable are in the perfect position for me. All in all if you look at the build quality/price personally I think its constructed just as good as the Halcyon stuff.

Don't get me wrong the Halcyon stuff is great....just the whole one piece harness just doesn't work for me. I find it constricting not too mention I am not a huge proponent of this whole GUE/DIR stuff which the Halcyon was tailormade for.

So needless to say I will have some stuff for sale in the "Marketplace" section.

I was thinking of going this route and was wondering how much you feel the extra padding and material affected your buoyancy? I currently dive a Halcyon Infinity and thought perhaps the lumbar of the Form might help with my lower back pain.

We exclusively sell BP&W (no padding) at the shop and on yours you actually have the padding. A BP&W is especially great for someone that has a bad back because it gives you the best support. If you are new to a BP&W then there can be a small conditioning period when getting use to being in such a Trim Position that the plate offers us. If you have a lot of dives on it and still have issues then may actually have something else going on in your Back and i would go get it checked out. No one that I know of complains of back pain when diving with a plate.
