I have posted this question on my local Ontario forum as well so some of you have already seen it and I have even got good responses already, but as SB have more audience I would love to get more opinions if possible.
As my second reg is now used after doubling up my cylinders I'm left with no pony reg. I want to buy one to use as pony when I need and to use it eventually as a stage/deco bottle reg. After doing some research I found that SB MK2Plus /R190 looks like a good option for a stage reg as it's piston so less problems if flooded and R190 is unbalanced which is also good for the stage. The only thing is as we dive cold water all year around (unless we go to Gulliver Lake which is 20' deep) Would it be a problem to use this reg in the cold water ? My understanding is that even if it starts flowing I can still manage the free flow as the valve is easily accessible on the stage bottle, though that will introduce another task.
And the second question is can this reg be used with O2 mixes greater than 40% if yes will I need to do complete O cleaning out of the box ?
Any thoughts or good alternatives ? , thanks a lot
