Your profile shows you have very few dives. Nit-picking would not be necessary to anyone with any amount of dive experience to know that hoods are just fine

You took the words outta my mouth.

My quarrel with common internet practice is when people write rapidly.......

.....and don't have a clue what they are talking about. It's always better to gain experience on a subject (diving) before wading into a discussion and making a comment that only someone without any experience would make.....

Well, it was -42C here today with the windchill. You want to see snappy...
I love Saskatchewan. I'd have considered moving there if it were not for those hard winters.

My point was about the poster's use of the word "both." You may feel that nobody with less than 500 dives ought to post here. But this board serves as a resource for new divers as well as old timers, and something that is "obvious" to the old timers may confuse a newbie who is here to learn.

On the subject of knives, I saw DMs in Cozumel carrying a sort of baton, which they used to steady themselves by planting it on the sea floor or against an object. It was not my place to say anything to them, but it seemed a bad idea to me.

LOL- so you think 60 qualifies me for an "old timer"?? Now who needed to reread their reply before posting it??

Who told you that? I've been diving Coz for years and have NEVER been told that by ANY dive op. :rofl3:

I've been diving there for several years too and saw the distance rule post-Wilma. Not sure if it was on the list before or not. I also remember someone noting it here on the board and it really did seem ridiculous.

Did you say minus 42? In San Miguel? Holy cow. :eyebrow:

Oh, I don't think 60 dives would qualify you as an old timer per se, but the 100-199 stated in your profile just to the left of your reply might. :) Has someone been padding their dive number? :D :lotsalove: I am absolutely aghast to find that you would put more dives in your profile than you actually have...on the internet? Sacrilege! I feel faint, I must lie down. :shocked2:

Before I jumped someone in public saying they should reread their reply...I would make sure my reply jived with the information to the left of it. :rofl3:

Hahaha, I'm mostly pulling your leg...but you know what they say about internet arguments right?
