See post #3 and #9.
SG knew enough to put it on social media, but not on their website where they needed it.
Since when is it SG's job to keep the OP informed about US government exemptions or lack thereof? Sure they put it on their social media pages and didn't put some banner on their cart pages. Why should they clog up the screen-estate in their cart with US specific tariff information when the other 91+ countries ordering from them don't need that - they follow and pay attention to their own national rules.

They know there may be duty but they do NOT know the amount of the duty. As such, they cannot tell you how much you are going to pay. Which was your initial argument. Further, show us where SG knows the duty amount.

You are conflating two different things. Neither of which are SG obligation. The first is warning customers that there maybe duty. The second is the actual duty. Both are the customer’s responsibility. Period.

That said many sellers are now adding warnings so to educate buyers. Especially those in the US who have been oblivious to the consequences of blindly purchasing from outside the USA.

If there is fault with many sellers is not warning about the ridiculous fees the shipper may charge for collecting the duty. And if the package is returned shipping will not be refunded.

Your posts are usually good. But you’re narked in this case.

I don't think that he is serious; he may be being sarcastic in a subtle way.
