if i opt for station 2, that would be nigi nigi. i love their bar atmosphere and their seafood.

in station 1, i usually choose la fiesta beachfront because i get to have my little balcony at the second floor that overlooks the entire white beach path and the ocean at a very reasonable price.

ahhh tbox, lucky are you who witnessed boracay before its ruins. :) i wish i had the chance to visit it in the 70's and 80's. but then, that would mean asking to be born ten years earlier :blinking:

15 years ago if you visit boracay you would have to stay at least 4 days to make it worth it. the bumpy dusty ride was almost unbearable. For the party people they probably wouldn't have like what it was before.

errrr... i have tried hey jude's only once. too many people milling there plus drinks are little more expensive! i prefer the stand alone bars along station 1, the one near the old station 1 docking station and the zorba's bar at ban's.

would want to meet eddie soon though, mike! my favorite boracay bartender is still jepoy! :) God bless his soul wherever he is now.)

axua: ahhh, but the dusty bumpy roads would be nothing compared to the virgin state of the island, less crowded, less commercialized.

Mike Veitch:
hahaha Nigis.... my buddy used to run it....

Maggie, did you meet Eddie? the manager/bartender at Jude's Place?

I agree with that! and there are still a lot of places in the Philippines (sicogon, nagarao, lakawon) almost or better than boracay before it became one big Malate on sand :)

We first 'hit' White Beach by banca coming from Roxas on Panay. We thought we were quite adventerous back then. There were just putting the underground power cable between the mainland and Boracay then. The only real nightlife was Bazura, oh well, everything changes!!

i have heard about Bazura a lot. but it is not there anymore, is it? i have never been to boracay before 2002 and since then i do not think that exists anymore. club paraw, pier1, cocomangas, and then summerplace (and that underground dance club)... they are all over the place.

i still love the chance of sipping my campari (or gin tonics- boracay is the only place i drink one) without loud music and ever louder shreaks of transvestite within earshot. thats why i appreciate the beauty of small, beachfront open bars. and yeah, bombom's music.

tbox: caticlan airport now hosts around 90 incoming and outgoing flights a day! I dunno if that is a good sign or a bad sign!

I always looking for that 'new paradise' the undeveloped Oasis, with the white Sandy beach and 'just enough' nightlife to keep you from going to bed before 9PM. Getting harder to find all the time. All over the world!
