Hey Darian, I had to respond to your comment about the guy working at Burger King. Been working for BK for over 15 years, got a kid in college, two more on the way to college, and my wife and I just got into scuba. Somehow, we managed to take the lessons, plan a trip to get certified (two weeks to go!) and buy our equipment (which I still try on in the family room after a week). Hard to believe what a "burger flipper" can make these days!

By the way, I know several "computer geeks" that work at Burger King as well.

And by the way, I don't have any zits, either! :D

What makes you think that everyone who works with computers/technology is a geek? Take a look at my picture - do I look like a computer nerd?

:doctor:

A lot of people who get into computers were good at math. Perhaps it has something to do with the challenge of an additional dimension? Perhaps the advance of dive technology?

Me? I just like to swim with the fishies . . . :blfish:

Yes... C'mon, you photoshoped 3 pictures into 1... not rocket science, but it's got a hint of computer nerd to it...

Don't worry though, I'm one and look like one too (sometimes)... that's why my pic is of me with a mask on ;)
Hmmm... maybe it's time to change it...

Ohiodiver,
A friend of mine was a manager at BK and he always always complained that he was not making enough. No offence was meant. Glad to here you are getting a decent pay.

BTW, I wear the title geek proudly.

Darian, no offence taken:) In fact, I'm originally from Columbus - I may in fact be the person that was complaining a few years ago:D (at the very least, I may in fact know your friend).

Anyways, just kiddin' around. BTW, I've been referred to as a geek quite a few times, myself. Funny, I don't think it had anything to do with computer skills....

Here's the golden question...... Is Ohiodiver just flippin Burger or a Manager only...? Or someone with a higher status....?

I will also say that diving is a sport for people who have money

Don't you mean people that "had" money? :)

Darian Dunn says that we, the computer geeks, have money (disposable income). I think that I will send him a resume. I'm still trying to scrape up some money for my first reg. BTW bjp63, if you have to ask.... :D Just kidding.

Hey SaltyWhale, while I've flipped plenty of burgers in my time, and managed the flippers for several years, I've moved out of that for the last 7 or 8 years or so.

BTW, "golden" is a bad word to us guys (as in "golden arches"). :)

Anyway, it's just like any other line of work - if you're willing to bust your butt and work harder than the next guy, you get rewarded with bigger and better opportunities. It's just a little greasier than most lines of work!:fire:
