My two cents. I rented one. Went all of about 100 yards on it. And my lovely, then 13 year old daughter, said, "Mom, I don't want to die today. Let's go back and get a Jeep." And so we did. And I'm VERY glad we did. The difference in cost was minimal and finding parking when I needed it wasn't too bad.

My daughter is worth every penny, and then some.
 
Never ceases to amaze me that tourist's who dont own and or never ride would
rent something like this in a foreign country.

Me former M/C mechanic now Race rep. I ride something on two wheels almost daily
I prefer the larger tires on the Yamahas.
You can even pull off some standup wheelies and adjust the brakes you can do a descent stoppie.
I probably have several thousand miles on the streets of Cozumel.
Only have had to pay off the local Po Po's for stunting in town.
