we did go over to BH on Friday, yesterday, and it was great. We were the only divers there until about 10am when a group from Ft Collins showed up to finish their cert dives. Luckily there were only 6 of them. That was it, the only divers all day!! There were tourists, swimmers, who showed up all day long but mostly families and small groups, who would stay an hour and leave. So rarely was there more than 30-40 of them. We had no problems with them. The lifeguards were there, like 5 of them all day, but they did nothing but sit around and chat with each other.
Stella was not there, and some guy with Tx plates walked up to me and started ranting about it. He said he drove all the way over to dive and was told she would be there at noon on Fridays. I told him only if she was called and told she had divers tanks to fill would she show up. He wouldn't was angry and kept going on and on... I told him she has another job during week and is just trying to support herself best she can. He finally left.
So people..... IF you are going over to Blue Hole, bring your own F-ing gear and tanks! Stella does the best she can, be she only makes money on fills and rentals, the City does NOT pay her. She will not sit there all day long hoping someone will rent a tank for $5. Be realistic!!
Anyhow, vis was pretty murky, very white and foggy, even with so few divers! We were the only ones diving at 8:30am and you could NOT see all the way across the hole. That is horrible. Silt on bottom is building up, as well as algae growing all over it now. I am seriously going to go over one day during the week and trash the vis to get rid of as much as I can.
