I'm working on plans for going to Japan as we speak. I'll make sure to get photos of me eating whale meat just for you guys. I might even try to take a bath in melted whale fat, even more convincing if it was a virgin female whale and not some old hag whale.

No. I think that I'm well within my right to oppose people losing jobs and eatting whale meat. How many people are pro and anti abortion, animal furs, meat, etc.

Maybe you could have some Sharkfin Soup and Bear gallbladders to go with that?

Presumably you think drug dealers, professional hit men and child pornographers have a right to their jobs as well?

I'm so glad I have Wormil on ignore! This thread is much nicer now!

Wormil... under the Marine Mammal Protection Act of 1972 it is illegal to harass/kill marine mammals or sell their meat. The Hump was doing so with knowledge of the illegality of it (why else would they be storing the meat in a white Mercedes outside the restaurant). You are way out of line with your comments.

So... passed in 1972... further amended in 81, 82, 84 and 95...

"Congress found that: all species and population stocks of marine mammals are, or may be, in danger of extinction or depletion due to human activities; these mammals should not be permitted to diminish below their optimum sustainable population; measures should be taken immediately to replenish any of these mammals that have diminished below that level, and efforts should be made to protect essential habitats; there is inadequate knowledge of the ecology and population dynamics of these mammals; negotiations should be undertaken immediately to encourage international arrangements for research and conservation of these mammals. Congress declared that marine mammals are resources of great international significance (aesthetic, recreational and economic), and should be protected and encouraged to develop to the greatest extent feasible commensurate with sound policies of resource management. The primary management objective should be to maintain the health and stability of the marine ecosystem. The goal is to obtain an optimum sustainable population within the carrying capacity of the habitat"

Here we are now almost 40 years later.... What is the current status.....? (Other than Paul Watson and his tree hugging vegan idiots whoring for the media....? I mean, have you watched Whale Wars....?)

I guess it's a character fault of mine to give people the benefit of doubt and to not understand a trollers mind set

re: moderator action

I'm actually sad that people complained. Seriously? You got butthurt over some one taking a different point of view? Pathetic. I'm going to have to complain about complainers. I want them all banned. And sued.

Whales are the best animals ever. We should love them and care for them and make sure no one eats them, ever.
