Hi: I will be in San Diego for the weekend of Jan 8th (8th, 9th, & 10th) and would like to get in a dive. Any ideas? My non-diving wife will be with me so I'm only interested in a half day of diving. Is it safe to try someplace like Ensenada? Any help appreciated.

p.s. I have never been diving in the Pacific. Been diving in the Keys & Gulf.

You might get a better response on this is in the So Cal area below; maybe a moderator could move it?

I see you've been diving in warm water...you might want to look at www.divebums.com, particularly the "visitors" area to check out local conditions. There is diving around Ensenada at La Bufadora, but that would be more than half a day's outing, and there is a lot available in SD itself, if you decide to try "temperate" waters.
