Bummer. Below is the email reply to a shop's order today:

Unfortunately, due to the never ending litigation with Halcyon we are closing the doors permanently on Tuesday, June 30th, 2009. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your support through our colorful history. If you have an order or a repair on the books with us it will be processed and completed, but we are no longer booking new orders.

Not sure what the story is behind this, but I can definitely say that there are a lot of loyal customers who will miss them. I have received nothing short of outstanding customer service.

Wonder if they will open up under another name?

This is extremely disappointing. But there may be more to this.

No doubt Salvo is the best in the business both in the gear they produce and the absolutely top notch customer service. There is also no doubt that Halcyon and Salvo have a history.

Let's just wait and see how this pans out.

There may be more to this story, I would advise everyone keeping their powder dry. The final line of this drama may not be written yet.

I am not suggesting Barry didnt turn himself around but I imagine at times its hard to fully recover financially from something like this. 2006 wasnt so long ago and the details of the sentencing indicate the payments were continuing until recently.

It is sad that any manufacturer especially one that makes products good enough to have a loyal following based on their quality and service goes out of business.
