.... Are there both alligators AND crocodiles in Florida? If so, are crocs native, or did they have help getting there?
Yep, there are both, and they're both native species too.
Fossil remains have them in the area for around 350 million years, if I recall correctly. (I might've woken up at one point during that lecture)

What a croc! :D This is a story you can really sink your teeth into.

But really... compared to a gator, our crocs are very aggressive. However, like sharks and gators they probably do NOT like compressed air directed at them.

Mad manatees are your biggest threat, right Doc...?! :11:

Actually, this time of year, the gentle giants are none too gentle. They are quite protective of the small fry. :D

I think we have more things that can kill you in our waters than anywhere else. Crocs, gators, moccasins, copperheads, bull sharks, makos, Great whites, hammerheads, oceanics, and of course the rabid otters. :D

Doc- My wife made a statement very similar to yours:

I think we have more things that can kill you in our waters than anywhere else.

That was shortly after explaining to her the hazards of camping near water with dogs and kids in near the Myakka River :D
