I had a first flying back from Clark Airport (small int'l airport) on Monday. They stopped me at security because I was carrying my regulator bag. They said the bungee could be used as a weapon and they couldn't figure out what the long regulator hose was for... I almost fell over when I heard that... I asked the guard if he thought I was going to snap people in the arse with the bungee or tie up the stewardess with my long hose? (probably a bad joke to say out loud at an airport in hindsight)

good thing they didn't tied you up with your long hose! maybe he was a non-DIR diver....

Funny you should say that about not wanting to go to PI. I only got really interested in going when I read about the whale sharks in Donsol. My trip started off as a trip to Cambodia with a side trip to PI, but it ended up a side trip to Cambodia with the grand finale being PI! Not bad, Considering that in early February I was still going to go to Canada...

I'm glad to hear you had a great time in the Philippines. I can certainly relate to the depression after coming back from a vacation. This year will be my 3rd consecutive trip to the Philippines, ever since I got hooked to this sport called diving Anyway, you gotta go back and dive the Visayas region, Palawan and Tubbataha reef.

The only way to overcome the post-Philippines dive trip depression is to get on an aircraft immediately and GO BACK!!! Glad you love our (okay, a reformed KANO says that) country. God smiled when he made the Philippines.

Some memorable moments in Puerto Gallera.

1.-Got a shark attack
2.-Having over 20 shots (shooters) at the Point and live to tell about it
3.-Diving in Verde Island with those crazy currents.
4.-Getting a sandwich by El Galleon staff.
5.-Surviving the Manila Bus/Ferry
6.-Telling people I am not TAGALOG!!!! Ano????
7.-Listening to "Cueshe -Stay" over and over again...even back at home.
