.508 cold water dives in 7mm plus gloves & hood.. But is that a good rate or a bad rate????

It's interesting to look at the results. The preponderance of values in the .4 to .6 range represents, I think, the fact that boards like this have a disproportionate number of avid and experienced divers. (And maybe a lot of women, too!)

In my tech training, we use .7 as a ballpark figure for average divers.

Mine was lower (around .48) but now I started with a drysuit so it has gone up. Now I am just a bit below .7 so I just have to dive more to get it lower again. Oh, I said dive more. What a great idea!

Ok, the verdict is in and vote is made..
High 50s to high 60s So ill call that .61-.70
Most of the last dives is low 60s though.. 62-63ish

I have one fundamental problem with this poll ... the results cannot be conclusive because, in most replies, it has not been stated under what conditions they were recorded.

The poll should take into considerations: kind of diving (warm water vs. cold),
exposure suit, diving conditions (current vs. calm water), stress level, dive
profile, fitness of the diver etc. etc. Unless specified, 0.21 SAC rate is
as good as 1.0?

Noticeably..
Youll wear less exposure protection, youre not struggling to keep the core temprature up and many places it also means drift/semidrift dives which lowers workload additionally..

If its almost freezing, dark and no currents I have seen variations of .1 from tropic drift dives..
Another thing to take into account there is that on vacation I dont tend to carry my gear very far before I jump into the water, while at home I might first carry the gear couple of hundred yards, then gear up and jump in, being less relaxed than when Im on vacations..
