S&S MDX 300 portrait position

I have a Sea and Sea MDX 300 with TTL converter and dual strobes. I was wondering if anyone with this housing has modified it so that a strobe could be mounted on one of the lower corners for better strobe positions for portrait (vertical) shots ?

I am planing to do this... but haven't had the time to visit my "engineer".

It does not seem that there are any pre-fabricated screw holes or anything on the bottom of the mounting that will allow for this. I hate to have anything drilled ... yikes !!
