Interesting(funny) read in this month's 'Spin Sheet' concerning an individual whom held a RYA Master certificate was required to attain a USCG license and what he had to do to attain such a license...

Yes well, I have met many ex-pat yachties in Fort Lauderdale who like to dismiss our USCG licensing system. However, I know a Captain from Russia and one from India who went to the UK to get their MCA Class 1 tickets because they were easier to get than the tickets issued in their home countries.
