NASDS # N1056 in the year 1968.

By George Armstrong Trident Divers San Antonio,Texas.

I was 10.

Diving since 7 years old.

He later said that I was his youngest oldest customer.

I still use my NASDS card, certified in 1975 by Alan Frasieur/OWI 235 at Sea D Sea in Redondo Beach, Ca.
NASDS is still going in Japan, and their cards still have the chip in them, same with Germany
and Italy,
The replacement cards look the same as the old ones, I wonder how many emergency room staff these days would know what or how to read a Microfiche chip?. I used to keep the spare chip taped to the back of my motorcycle helmet.

NASDS OWSI-652 worked through Aquatic Gateways, Pompany Beach, FL in 1971

I got my NASDS AOW cert in 91 with Franks Underwater Sports in Oklahoma. I lost my original card years ago but I still have the spare microfiche chip that came with my card. I scanned it on my scanner and can still read the info. Pretty cool :) I still have all my old course material and dive charts.

I stopped diving in 95 but just recently got back into it and just finished up my PADI OW with my wife. I can't believe how short the PADI OW course is now compared to the 6 week course I took with NASDS back in 91.

Sea D Sea is still there, a guy named Barry ownes it and has for years. My wife and son were certed there.

I started to say that I had lessons my dad got for me so I could clean boat bottoms in the marina his boat was in. I never got a card as he kept all the paper work at the time. That was during the summer of 1964. I was later certified through PADI as it seemed important to my wife at the time even though I had been diving for years on and off.

Diving here locally for close to 40 years
NASDS 1970
NASDS Senior Diver 1970
active diver 1970 to1980
1993 to2003 active here in local lakes and off shore
health problems have slowed down particapation

I was certified with NASDS in 1968 when I was 14 with Aqua Sports in Dallas - I think the instructor was Brad Bradburn(?). I was recently recertified with SSI since I had quit diving for about 20 years.
