Just curious? What is the annual costs vs. profit for a decient quarry? Also, would anyone be interested in a quarry in or close to Lexington.... just thinking far into the future! What would it take to be a success?

Every quarry within 30 miles of Lexington has had on offer to purchase or lease as a diving quarry. No one is interested. This process has gone on since 1996. There is a quarry between Lexington and Richmond that may open up to divers in the next two yrs. Right now he's selling his water from the quarry to golf courses and making money hand over first. If Kentucky American Water Co. lowers their prices then he says he's going to open the quarry to divers.

Not much profit involved after paying out insurance for a diving quarry. You really have to pump a lot of money into it. Have other type of sales, concessions, scuba, and other ammenities like toilets and hot showers, etc. etc.

You can't walk around like a HUGE A**HOLE either trying to run a quarry with a gun sticking out of your pants cursing at people like one rock quarry owner I once new before he lost his mind a few yrs. back.

Sounds like he was well on his way going in!
