The Seacraft booth with their dual TAC1000 DPV rig was nearby but I didn't really feel inspired to take a photo.

Not all European - @Jon Nellis (Genesis) was highlighted on the roster of 10 major industry partners in a key maritime briefing.

In other news, the Program Manager for SOF Combat Diving (from the Program Executive Officer - Maritime of Special Operations Command) shared that the USN dive tables are changing. No further insight other than longer durations underpinned by lots of NEDU testing. Six months ago one of my workmates went up to the NEDU for a proficiency dive but it ended up being a lab rat dive. I don't remember the profile but I remember thinking it was pretty crazy. Not like some heroic, romanticized documentary of a SEAL Platoon lockout training session but more like, "Bro, I've done some crazy sh*t but that just sounds stupid. You have fun while I'll knock out a sexy Trimix profile down on the Atlantic side, oh by the way, much deeper than you ever dream of going and having much more fun than you'll ever have diving, thank you very much."

Lastly, Dräger is finally coming out with a new RB. I didn't have the heart to tell the vendor I wasn't impressed. There was exactly zero there made of exquisite unobtanium. I'd probably get excited about a Fathom if they're at the convention.

Where are the cylinder heads

And wrapping up the "I'm not dead yet!" award for 2025...

Was that orange thing a submersible drone? Finally something for all the bloggers flying drones off liveaboards!

Yeah, it’s pretty slick. Watching the transition from flight to dive and from dive to flight is impressive.

Flight time of 45min while swim time is 120 minutes - less resistance, BION.

Claimed to be able to take off (go airborne) from the face of a wave.

My buddy’s company that does a wide variety of maritime work all over the world was pretty interested in the cost savings of being able to fly and dive a UAS several kilometers off shore to inspect a subsurface requirement without having to put a commercial diver in the water.
