Another season coming up. A wonderful Cayman trip planned for later this month. Been to GC diving many times over many years but only once to LC. Planning on doing both. Can't wait.

DAN tip of the day. If you have a DAN membership but are only diving part of the year or only on one big trip a year, you can purchase your DAN dive insurance just before your trip and they will prorate the cost to the end of your membership. So for my diving spouse who only dives warm water and with our membership running to June, I added the Master dive insurance for her and it was prorated for just the last month of our annual membership which worked out to about $11 for her dive insurance for the Cayman trip.

Back to RI diving, Newport NOAA Buoy reporting a very chilly 49. Anyone been diving RI lately? Maybe June for me and my 5 mil.

I hope everyone has a fun and safe dive season and I look forward to your posts.

Sat is looking good for my first ri dive of the season. Sunny light wind from the north and water temps in the 60s

Interested to hear what the temp is at depth.

59 degrees at 23’. Arrived around 9am and parking lot busy with divers, dive groups, kayakers and a kayak group. Vis 5’-8’ good sunlight flat calm low tide. Usual suspects.

We’ve got family in town until Sunday morning, so we’re shooting for Sunday late morning. May have to let them lock up for us when they leave 😝.

Have you made it out for a dive?

Not yet. Sunday will be our first of the season. Hopefully the water will be warmer, but we have chicken vests. So, either way, we’ll be comfy.

Heading to Jamestown this week. Weather doesn’t look great but will see if I can get a couple dives in.

We finally made it to Jamestown 2 Fridays ago. Not too bad. Temp was 65 at 30’. Viz was the typical 6’ish. The spider crabs were everywhere. My wife scared up a couple of flounder, always fun.

Hopefully the rain will hold off for you. Have a great time!

No diving at ft w. Never seen it so rough. The strong ssw wind has waves crashing the rock cliffs and beach.
