Most good bank credit cards in Australia provide free travel insurance. This is all I have used for at least 20 years with the insurance working as it said it would, including a trip where I had to undergo five chamber trips.
For this trip I can't rely on my CC insurance. Because smarttraveller has recently rated Egypt as "reconsider travel," my CC's insurance PDS states it will not cover any trips to "reconsider" or higher regions. Wish we were more like the UK with nuanced guidance based on region within the country. It's far enough in the future that I hope some things will have settled by then, but in the meantime and in a worst case scenario, thought I'd get some coverage from another source.

Is CoverMore pretty on-par with DAN in terms of ability to handle dive-related emergencies overseas in short order? I know Covermore as a general provider but would be a little concerned about relying on them for something like DCS, eval to nearest chamber, and so forth.

I agree that DAN is pretty much useless when not diving OS
Not sure if CoverMore has any skills in evac etc, they don’t advertise it so I suppose not.
1-Cover seems to be a diving specialist insurer here.

In which country did you 'ride the chamber' in, and were you told which 'table' they used?
My last chamber ride was HMAS penguin 1986, the doctor of underwater med said I was bent, but I was not, I had something not even close [ I will not go into it here, too long] I had to ride out 4 hours and 45min with a civilian that had a spinal bend [first of a couple rides he needed]?
How was the treatment?
Chuuk Lagoon. Done on DAN advice. Looking back, certain I was not bent as I never improved when taken down or after treatment, except that three or five hours had passed and I was a little better. I think it was a bug that upset my balance etc.

I know how that feels.
Thanks. :checkbox:
OK, back on topic.

So, hilariously as I was getting ready to purchase insurance from DiveAssure I noticed the checkbox to add "Cancel for Any Reason" was missing (regardless of country of residence I toggled between, as I wanted to see if it was just lacking for Australian residents) -- and appears to now have been struck out of all plans with a new FAQ item added to their FAQ page:

Q: Do you offer cancellation for “any reason”?

A: We do not offer cancellation for “any reason”, however, our cancellation coverages are extensive and range from weather conditions to medical-related issues, work-related issues and more. We recommend reading the full Description of Coverage for your program available on our website.
Maybe they saw my post and rushed to remove this option :(
