My boyfriend and I booked a "Discover Scuba" class and dives with Silent World out of Key Largo for some fun and relaxation prior to deployment. I am a certified diver; he is not- thus the scuba class.

Day 1- Pat did a pool session for Jim and invited me along since it had been over a year since my last dive. Her teaching method was great- she is incredibly laid back, exhumes a level of confidence that is incredibly reassuring, has the patience of a saint, and a twisted sense of humor. Great combination!

We had two dives that afternoon. Capt Bob runs a great boat. Not only was the boat big enough that you didn't yak from the waves, it was fast in getting us to our dive sites. The dive brief was thorough. This was not a cattle car operation at all- I didn’t feel crowded and had plenty of room for my gear. Tanks were complete fills- full 3000 each and every time for both of us. We were given 1 hour dive time for each site (25' reef), and not rushed in/out. Chris actually joined us on the boat that afternoon.

Day 2- Two more dives, zero complaints. Pat was such a great instructor to dive with, we highly recommend her.

They may not load/unload your gear or provide a gourmet lunch (just bring your own, they have a cooler)- but if you want a safe and competent crew this is the dive op to go with. Between the professionalism of the staff, the quality of the rental equipment, the eagerness to assist from the boat crew- this was by far the best dive op that I have encountered. I highly recommend!!

I’ve consistently heard good things about Silent World. It’s rare to find a place like that in the keys. I think we’ll have to come down and dive with them.

Thanks for the review.

Between the great reviews and their great multi-trip discount packages, they're an option anyone should consider in Key Largo. :)

At those prices, you can buy your own pineapple.

Chamber of commerce conditions off Key Largo last Friday. Seas could be measured in inches and the water was mightly blue. The able captain from Silent World agreed to make the trip out to Carysfort Light even though we were just a bit late leaving the dock.

Carysfort is the Northern most sanctuary site in the Upper Keys so very few ops venture out to see this great reef.

A newbie buddy of mine was enjoying the conditions.

More than a hint of color and even and Eagle Ray, with so little diving pressure it was like diving in a Keys time machine - there was so much to see including the shearest wall in the Keys.

Too bad the vis. sucked - not!

I like the variety that Silent World is offering up and they are one of the best values in the Upper Keys.

Hey Girlfriend!!!!

Thanks so much for letting me dive with you and Jim! :) I do have to admit, that we did have a blast!

Also thanks for the "left overs". They were put to very good use this weekend.

Y'all come back real soon......AND SAFE!! (I promise ONLY afternoon dives next time! :) )

This is all making me more and more excited for my upcoming trip to the middle keys in October. Doing all this diving in Monterey (CA) with 10-15' viz will make me REALLY appreciate the good views! Thanks for the nice report and photos.

My husband and I used Silent World last December. We are both newbies and Capt Bob made us feel comfortable, even when I was feeding the fish over the side of the boat. And learned a great tip from Miss Pat: Starburst Chews after a dive really helps the cotton mouth.

I've been recommending them ever since. Can't wait to dive with them again.

SW took us out to the Spiegel Grove yesterday. Great people, friendly.
