The OMS Power Inflator with angled mouthpiece #BCA-157

True to their reputation, OMS once again produces an inferior product.

Servicing the OMS power inflator is not as easy as other inflators. The metals stems screw directly into Delrin buttons, which are easily stripped. The button stems are thin and cheap that break with minimal corrosion. This renders the entire button assembly useless since the broken stem is cannot be reached. It is not possible to buy replacement parts, so you've got to buy another entire inflator assembly.

All in all, I would avoid OMS. Spend your money on better inflators.

...honestly, as for so many scuba items, there's likely only 1 or 2 manufactuers of this item, as it looks pretty identical to most of the other units out there...are you sure OMS really manufactured it ?

Trying to fix an inflator is almost always an exercise in frustration. Replacing them every other year is best.

I;ve been servicing my inflators for a couple years now. Not much to them. Tobin's little inflator tool makes life much easier. And there really is not much to them to screw up. I'll be doing them and regs the week of Christmas. The most useful tool to have when doing them is patience.

OMS lists the item on their website as an item produced by OMS.

The best place to get repalcement inflators is Northeast Scuba Supply. I like the Apeks inflators.

And I agree with NetDoc, just buy a new one.
