I'll second the recommendation for Pacific Rim Divers. A very friendly and knowledgeable six-pack boat. Very flexible for all levels of experience and Patrice is amazing in her ability to find the critters, and identify them. Her brownies are great, too!

We just got back early this morning from the Big Island. We spent our first day doing shore dives at the end of the road in Puako with a friend. We rented tanks and weights from Kohala Divers in Kawaihae and they were very nice and friendly

We spent two days diving with Patrice and Frank from Pacific Rim Divers, based on recommendations here and elsewhere. Outstanding operation! We had great dives with Patrice, and to top it all off, we spent Halloween doing the night manta ray dive - definitely an otherworldly alternative to trick-or-treating! We will definitely go with Pacific Rim Divers again the next time we're on the Big Island

We also stopped in at the Jack's Diving Locker store to look for new booties for my wife. An amazingly well stocked dive store!
