I recently read the Steve Jobs biography, where I first learned that Apple products (which I don't use, so I didn't know) are apparently set up to not support viewing of porn sites. There was apparently a hue and cry about this being an attempt to control the behavior of users.
I didn't see it that way. I saw it as people in the world (leaders at Apple) deciding that they didn't want to support pornography, so they chose to create devices that couldn't be used that way. That doesn't control anyone's behavior. It doesn't even change their ability to do what they want. It just meant they couldn't do it with Apple devices, and Apple could be happy with knowing they weren't enabling an industry they considered problematic.
I think it's the same thing here. If I ran an Internet board and decided I didn't want erotic content on it, that would be my right, to the best of my knowledge. If you can't decide how to run your own business, what's the point of having one? You'll gain and lose customers based on how you decide to run it, but it's your business.
If people are going to get in a bunch over freedom, consider the freedom of business owners to build what they want. If you like SB, keep coming back. If you don't, there's a really big Internet out there with thousands of sites for whatever it is you want.
