The sexiest and most durable pee valve is the all balanced stainless steel sweet pee from Dive Rite... Halcyon has a nice unit as well ( No pun intended)!!

The OMS and Diverite Pee-Valves are the same.. The both get them from the same manufacturer.

The all stainless steel constuction is great and its very easy to clean.. the unit easily seperates into 3 pieces.. the outer portion unscrewes in half so the inside can be easily cleaned, the outerhalf and inner half unscrew for removal from dry suit for cleaning.. the valve consists of 3 ss pieces 2, rubber gaskets and diaphram and a few o rings.. I found the best way to install the unit is to use a holde punch and aquaseal the 2 rubber gaskets in place.. This gives a firm place for the pee valve orings to seal against and also protectest the hole in your suit... after each day of diving I just unscrew the unit and clean it in the sink, and its ready for the next day of diving..

I went for years without a valve and now realize how stupid I was.. I hated depends, so I usuallly had to hit the head as close to dive time as possible, the quickly gear and get in, and pray I could bear the pain during my decos.. Now I drink liquids right up intil the time I get in the water and sometimes while submerged at my deco stops..

I think the OMS/DIVERITE valves are far superior to the halycon one.. Personally I think the halycon one looks like a home made piece of gear, and there are many homemade plans available.

As to the condom catheders (sp) a word of caution, sizing varies with brands, so when you find the right size stick with it.. some work fine without any prep solution, others require it.. Personally I try and not use the prep solution since its not pleasant removing it off the unit (especially if you weren't careful and got some hair in the way)...

lets get back to the best Pee Valve.

I am using a soggy old diaper and have ordered a OMS pee valve

I would like to know of any other options out there, or here from people using the valve.

hole in my drysuit. my last dry suit had several hole in it I just kept pluggin them with bubble gum.

on a seroiuse note. holding your pee can lead to DCS. it the fact that your constricting your muscles durring the descent. let it flow baby.

I have been pretty good about holding it because i hate the soggy diaper thing. I will hold it until i need to use cancious thoughts to do so. but when you strat getting to 2 hr dives forget it.

so give me the pros and cons of different pee valves, I like Rick Murchison idea how does that work.

Is the OMS balanced

I have had critters were they shouldn't be and I am not in favour of that experience again
Think spinny sea urchan and internal catheters ourch!!

I have the Si-Tech on my Viking xtreme - a bit bulky but works like a charm and no futzing about with bolts.

I'll probably put one on my new Northern Diver Tech also. But I still where a depends as a "back up" so to speak.

Check with Bob3 for the SiTech's price

OK thank you everyone for making some sort of a reply...:) i have decided on the OMS valve. now the only question is Where do i get one from...ok ok, i know LP, but where is the BEST price does anyone out there have a great hook up or something? I want/need this valve soon and now the ONLY determining factor is the price, any suggestions? Thanks again

I cant stand the feeling of having to pee and knowing i cant until my 1 hr + deco is done so i would pay $100 or more if i had to do it again. My basic pee valve was probably $30 5 yrs ago.

Thanks
Rob

Dive Rite Express....... www.diveriteexpress.com has them for $180.00 with free shipping. I didn't pay that much for mine, but mine came installed from the factory. I think I paid about $125... How much does the Halcyon go for??

Balanced is better IMHO but do remeber to open the outboard dump bolt on surfacing otherwise that Condom can get pretty bulky!!!
