Relief Valve for my drysuit?

Hi there everyone....new to this forum....i dive alot...you all know that feeling you get when you do this...you know the feeling deep inside of something really wanting out my question is....What Pee Valve is the best? i am looking at either the Halcyon Extreme exposure balanced valve or the OMS sweet-pee. I am going to have a valve soon, just don't know which one...any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

not sure about those you mentioned but mines an unbalanced.

best investment i ever made.

sweet pee ? unless your planing on tasting yours i would avoid this one.

Get the Halcyon balanced.... you will like it...

With an unbalanced one you can have saltwater critters swimming upstream... sorry Andy...

I am wondering why you say to avoid the OMS Valve? what makes it a bad valve? THank you for the reply, i always thought though that OMS made pretty good stuff? how is it that this valve is bad? thanks again for any help.

Just a plain old manually opened & closed hollow bolt model. It ain't fancy but it works.

I simply can not belive anyone would voluntarily insert a catheter into their own body. I even refused the thing when I was rushed to the hsopital on a life or death Hemtoma to the Spleen and lasceration to the Kidney. I'd have rather died.

I mean how hard is it to hold it for the 5 -10 minutes it takes to get out of the water?

Not to mention the fact that people are selling these things second hand on E-bay. Who is inserting a USED catheter?!?!

The whole things sounds like one of those X-treme German porno flicks or something.

Finally, to use the thing don't you also have to compromise the integritty of the suit by putting a hole in the suit for the P-Valve to come through?

You're not inserting anything. Pee Valves make use of an external catheter that glues on to your 'parts'.

For a long dive, or a long time in your drysuit, pee valves are almost required. Especially if you are properly hydrated.

I'd rather glue a cath on than wear a pair of adult diapers.....but that's just my opinion.

Think extra strength condom with adhesive inside and a tube at the end. Your P valve has a hose & barb that fits into this.

As for holes in the suit.... what are you poking your head and hands out of?

And hydration is the key!!! We drink lots of water and juice before a dive... I drink extra just so I can get my money's worth out of the P valve....

BTW Condom Caths are around $1 if bought in bulk and you use a new one each dive...hopefully...

What about the ladies? They don't have this option. And if the ladies can hold it what are we less 'civilized' than the ladies?

I've worked as a nurses aide so I am familure with the "external male" cath vs the Internal ones. The ones I saw for sale on E-bay were definately internal caths.

As for the holes in the suit your arms, legs, head are coming out of; the suit was designed with those holes. Arn't we talking about poking your own brand spanking new hole? All the dry suits I've seen so far do not come with a P-valve hole already in them. Will a shop do this for you so it is a "professional" drilling?

Also, Isnt it embaressing walking from your suit up site to the water with what is essentially your urin stick flopping around for all to see?
