i took my first open water in-water training last week and did some underwater exercises. the regulator we were using was an aqua lung titan. breathing was fine, but one thing that kept annoying me was the bubbles going over my eyes everytime i took a breath. are there any 'common' regulators on the market which have a feature that exhaust bubbles thru the sides? i was planning on buying an aqua lung legend lx once my training was over, i do not know if this regulator would have this feature. i DO know the aqua lung kronos DOES have this feature, however is is not sold in the USA anymore for some reason. i say 'common' regulator as id like to have the ability to get it services anywhere. i saw some poseidon regulators that might have this but read getting it serviced may be an issue.

I think this might come as a natural result of you probably being in a vertial position.
When you get to lean forward, and become more horizontal the bubbles will naturally go up along the side of your face.

I believe there is a longer outlet that can be used. Not sure if the titan has that option.... or u have a wide face?

Let your scuba centre know about it.

And like advise... once u get horizontal. . Then it wont matter

The Kronos was AL's recent attempt at a side exhaust reg. As i understand it, they were never very popular and were discontinued by AL. I have never dived one, but I can't see why they wouldn't work for bubble dispersion. There are probably some still available.

As Imla said your bubble problem will most likely disappear once you are horizontal and start swimming forward.
Oceanic Omega is side exhaust.....just not sure if the new model is released yet.

The Hollis version of the Omega is out, but the housing is different:

Hollis Gear: 500SE

Oceanic, and Hollis are owned by the same company. The Omega has been my favorite second stage for about 30 years.

Can't pass this thread by without repeating the first reply: POSEIDON!
There are a host of reasons why this is such a great brand, and use by the world's militaries is just one reason.

Vertical or horizontal, this will solve the bubble issue, and you won't regret the ease of breathing, either. A little harder to find service (mail it to me - I'll do it for you), but the regs are bulletproof!

You've just entered the Scubaboard world of fanboys. Everybody's got a favorite brand, and Poseidon is one of my four favorites.
