can see that apeks tx50 and generally scubapro are getting some of the majority votes...
the tx50 in my country is very often parallel imported... what say you guys of buying parallel imported gear? what i understand is that it is very easy to get them serviced.

TLada:
How does the T50 stack up against the atx200? I thinking of getting an Apeks and trying to decide on which one.

I really don't think you will be able tell the difference easily as far as breathing goes. They are both real nice. The looks and layout are different. I use the Apeks ds4 version on my technical rig, the hoses route better.

One thing for sure, you will not outgrow either of them and they are great for cold water too. The T50 has a larger, olderstyle 2nd stage that some folks prefer. I have a Black Pearl anniversary edition reg too. (Very similar to the ATX 200) I love it because it is unique. It works as well as the rest. Look into te ATX 100's too. You will love them.

They have a deal on annual servicing too.

I hope that this helps.

i heard from a friend that the hose diameter for apeks regs is wider than normal hoses, so if i want to change the hose i need an adaptor. true?

If no one answers here, check some of the UK tech diving sites where Apeks are made. From what I remember they mention plugging the port and using a standard hose. However when I think about it doesn't make sense unless there is an adaptor on the reg side that can take a standard hose. They like to be able to swap regs between units if one should fail. I have Apeks gloss color hand out here. Reading it, it says the 1st stange has 3 standard size ports (3/8" UNF) and one larger 1/2"
port. The 1/2 inch port is for the Apeks 2nd stange. So the
answer is "It has both".

I'm looking at buying either the AT50 or the Aqualung Legend and
have been doing some reading
