Im from canada so same diving as you do .I use the atomic m1 and a modified z2 for my back gas great regs never let me down ,Stay away from the scubapro mk 25 they freeze way to easy

Thanks for the feedback on the MK25, I am debating between the increased flow rate of the MK25 for deep wrecks or the benefits of the MK17 diaphragm design. I plan to do more deep, mixed gas diving than ice, but the deep wrecks run about 40F or less year round. Have you had the freeze problem on surface ice or at depth?

Most of guys i know wont even dive scubapros anymore due to freezing problums in even 50 deg water i have seen mk25 freeze on a 70 foot stage in 45 deg water we all use atomic and apeks and one guy uses poseidons extreem deep 90
I dont know much aboult the mk17 but stay away from the mk25 in the great lakes or get a good back up if your diving doubles.

for the money ou can get a apeks ds4 xtx50 or a sealed atomic z2 with is a far better cold water reg
