I don’t see anything wrong with the setup either. Not to start a debate, but I would recommend you spend the $50 and get the environmentally sealed version. Especially if you’ll be using them in CT/RI.

Go for it - my main dive buddy dives those and loves it. I dive one recreationally but for deep, you'll have to pry my Poseidon extreme Deep out of my cold dead hands
