any thoughts on this regulator. i'll be doing mostly warm water diving. i'm not sure what one considers "cold water diving", but no dry suit diving for me.

I don't need bells and whistles. my only concern in safety.

If all you are doing is warm water diving (50 Degree's and up )
it should fine .
Another real good choice would be Scubapro MK2 or aqualung calypso:D
 
It's a great reg for the money. I bought one last year and am very satisfied with it. Light and rugged-the mouthpiece feels good. Breathes well. I've been down to 130fsw with it and no worries. It does breathe ever-so-slightly wet when inverted though.

I say go for it -especially if you're going to get at LP for $125. However, I must recommend Scubatoys instead. They really are as great as everyone says here on SB. I'm not sue if they are selling the non-DVT version but call them and ask.
