HELP!

I am bucking up and am purchasing the whole shooting match of dive equipment. I have decided on pretty much everything but am stuck on the regulator. I have decided to go high end in hopes of not having to buy again in a couple years and at the same time get an excellent set up. This is what I have narrowed it down to...

1. Atomic B1
2. Mares Abyss
2. AquaLung Legend LX
3. Apex Tx200

All are excellent regs at all approx the same performance and price as far as I know. I would really value some opions both biased and open on my strategy and choices.

Most of my diving will be here in British Columbia with the odd tropical trip. THANKS.

Abouth the regulator:
defenitly go for the Apeks!!!! Otherwise get the aqualung. But pereferable is Apeks. Dont buy the mares!or atomic.

I had a mares Abyss, i swapped the mares for a MK25-S600, which is roughly the same as the atomic i heard! although i am not sure, have nt seen the atomic from inside, outside they look the same.
But now i have Apeks, they are better.(Maintaince, reliability, hosing possibilities, cold water performance and even the price is also better then the SP's)
What else do you want from a reg? :)

hope this helps.

Look around,,,,, this board LOVES Apeks... me included

but I also LOVE the Atomics - but for the money ease of repair... Apeks all the ay baby....

I'm not convinced the ATX200 is worth the money over other Apeks regs like the TX50/DS4 or the TX100. Other than that, I'd say go with an Apeks reg and be done with it.

Good luck.

Mike

'cause they haven't tried the Legend... It is an awesome reg, and I am thinking about trading up for it! I thought I would never find a better breathing reg than my Micra... I was wrong!!!

I would highly recommend the Apeks regs or the new Zeagle regs which are virtually identical, but you can probably get a better deal on the Apeks online. I use Zeagle Flathead VI's and I love them, I also have a dive shop connection that will give me very good deals on the new Zeagle stuff and I am willing to pass that info along to anyone on the board, just send me a PM. Also if everybody doesn't already know, Zeagle is now making all the new Flathead VI's with standard 3/8 ports instead of the one 1/2 port.

They're a legend in their own time, and backed by Aqualung. Stores everywhere. If a store is inconvenient, Diveinn sells the LX for $330. Incidentally, the cold water version is the LX Supreme. The only difference is that the first stage has a lower IP adjustment. All have the dedicated 2nd stg hose port for "turbo" power.
