If I could do over, 'would get all Scubapro G260's with locking purge button. This feature should be on all regulators IMHO. Of course, this would cut down on the regulator service income, and is why I suspect these devices are not ubiquitous among manufacturers.

I like bags. I hate equipment getting beat up when it need not.

The adjustable type regulators can be set such that there is no force on the seat with the knob fully out. Therefore there can be no seat indentation. In use the knob will need to be turned inward about a half turn or so. I do like the seat saver of my G260 set, yes it is nice, but my G250 seconds set as described do as well.

I stopped using a bag several years ago because it took up room that I needed for other carryon things - even if I packed other stuff in the bag. When I went to the Philippines I was told I’d have to pack my reg in my checked bag on the way home because it’s seen as a potential weapon. Since doing that I’m an advocate of packing in checked luggage - between clothes/neoprene. It would be hard for someone in luggage handling to grab a reg and take it home without it being seen because they’re so awkward. I’m happy to have recouped the space in my carryon.
I’m going to try this on my next trip. Free up some space for stuff I don’t wear. 😀
