Andy,

Good choices all around, congratulations. I think you will me much happier with these than you were with your old regs. You have configured these as I would given the same first and second stages. If you want to add the environmental seal to the US4 I believe it can be done at a regular service for a nominal amount. The DIR folks seem to encourage second stages configured like you have them. Now you just have to save your money for the computer you are waiting on. By the way, I think that the regs now and the computer later is an excellent choice.

Andy,
You may want to consider making the 40 your primary. Tune it so it brethes well and then you have the 50 as a secondary and can tune it down to ensure that it does not free flow in current. I have a good number of the Apex regs and find that when they are tuned you do not need to adjust them regardless of depth.

hmmmm... i will have to experiment then... i'll try both as either and see
which one i like best

(i live for this sort of crap)

Visit my page http://www.technicaldivingpr.com/home.html then go to "buy" bottom then select "regulators". This is a link for Salvo Diver. You'll find the same APEX 50 for half of it price and this "dive shop" also sell you the repair kit and has some links in where you will find the manual.

wow, so the Salvo regs are just Apex under a different name?

do you know where Salvo gets their regs built and assembled?

Andy if you look close they probably look just like your Sea Elite.

lol, yeah... that's the reason i went with the SeaElites

i figured i'd step up to the Apeks and see the difference

(i didn't know the Salvos were Apeks clones too)
